What is ?
Trauma Intervention Programs (TIP) is a national nonprofit organization founded in 1985 to provide immediate on-scene support to victims of tragic events. TIP volunteers are available on a 24 hour, 365 day basis to support: family members after a death, crime victims, survivors of suicide,children left alone after a death or injury of their parents, disoriented older persons and anyone referred by emergency responders.

TIP chapters across the country are working together with police and fire departments and hospitals to ensure that citizens in crisis receive immediate compassionate support.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

•TIP4Kids-Volunteers provide special support services to traumatized children.

•TIPTeens-Young TIP volunteers provide peer support to traumatized teens.

•Bilingual Volunteers provide crisis services to victims in their own language.

•Senior Crisis Team provides extensive follow-up services to elderly citizens who are in crisis.

•Emotional First Aid Training provided to emergency responders and the general public.

Meet The Managers
 
 
Sherri Graves


TIP Manager Sherri Graves has been the TIP Crisis Team Manager since March 2006. Before that she was a TIP volunteer for 9 years. Sherri became the TIP Manager after retiring from the Metropolitan Police Department (911 Dispatch) after 30 years. Sherri is responsible for the successful operations of the crisis response team as well as training of new volunteers, scheduling and debriefing all volunteers after a TIP call. Sherri loves her job with TIP “This job allows me to stay connected with law enforcement while helping those who are emotionally traumatized.” she said.
 
 
 
Lorrie Carlyn


Lorrie Carlyn has been the Assistant Crisis Team Manager since July, 2006. Before that she was an active TIP volunteer. Lorrie has been a lifelong volunteer and has found that volunteering in TIP has been the most rewarding time in her life. As the Assistant Crisis Team Manager, Lorrie's responsibilities include recruitment of new volunteers, community speaking and to brief emergency responders and hospital personnel about TIP. She says that her TIP job is the “perfect job” for her. “I love the flexibility of working for TIP, but mostly I appreciate the opportunity to support our wonderful TIP volunteers.”
