EMOTIONAL FIRST AID (E-TIP)
for EMERGENCY SERVICES

E-TIP - 6 Hour Slide Deck.png

Emergency services personnel see the most challenging moments in a community. You are expected to remain steady regardless of what you encounter, and that level of exposure has a real impact.

This training offers practical skills to support colleagues on scene and communicate more effectively with citizens in crisis. It strengthens on-scene stability and helps sustain a long career in this field.

What You Will Learn

  • How stress and trauma affect behavior in the first minutes after a critical incident

  • Practical emotional first aid skills for on-scene support

  • Peer-to-peer support techniques for emergency services

  • Approaches that protect your own well-being during repeated exposure to tragedy

Who This Training Is For

This training is designed for individuals who serve within the emergency response system, including first responders, dispatch and communications staff, administrative personnel, support staff, and volunteers working in organized response programs. It is not intended for the general public or for those exploring volunteer opportunities with TIP.
